Incorporate the sense of touch into counting, make this cardboard and pom poms counting activity and have your child feel the quantities as they learn.
You can make this as a matching game, having the kids match the numbers to the corresponding tile with the pompoms (or use buttons instead), or have the number and pom poms on the same piece of cardboard for kids to explore.
Materials needed for this counting activity
- Ccardboard
- Pom poms
- Glue (hot glue gun or any other strong glue)
- Markers
- Scissors
Cut out squares out of cardboard or any other strong paper.
Glue pom poms on the cardboard squares.
You can start with numbers up to five, but can certainly go above that.
Write numbers on other pieces of cardstock.
Match the numbers with the cardboard with the same number of pompoms.
